1. Mistaking "readiness": Some of them are NOT really ready, they just 'feel' they really are. Having so much money is NOT an integral sign of readiness to launch out into the vast 'solo' sphere of entrepreneurship, it is just a complementary aspect of it but developing and finetuning an attainable business plans is a key sign of readiness.2. Mistake of Comparisons and Competition: Yes there is competition in every circle of endeavour and there will be enough for you to face as your business evolves (that is if your business survives), but don't be in a hurry to provoke it, atleast not NOW, not yet, not so soon. You should NOT start competing at this "hatchling" phase of your business. NO. it can sink you. Striking a competition sends out a "come and fight me" signal to other already grounded brands that might even knock you down and out of business so why want to strike it?. All you should be interested in is MAKING YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION, GUIDING IT AND GROWING IT. As a matter of fact, no body expect any form of competition from you as a newbie, all people are watching out for about you is "if your business will even survive the day" and looking at you with a "let's see how far he can go" kind of eye.. It is only and only if your brand is "good enough" that you will begin to welcome competitions (which might not even be initiated by you)
3. Taking random risks: Random risks include but not limited to resigning from paid employment, invading a business you do not have a quarter understanding of, investing in multiple "call-ups"(call-ups are those momentary abrupt calls to invest) at the same time, hiring excess of personnel for a start etc. There are lots and lots of risks to take in business but you must have heard of "calculated risk" that's what applies.
4.Anticipating Success success chance: There is NO success success chance in business, it infact is a "failure-success" chance.Every business has potential capacity to fail or succeed including the well "strategized" ones. Just so you wont be so disappointed.
5. Stranded focus: According to Robert Kiyosaki (MD/CEO Rich Dad, Poor Dad Company), focus means "facing One Course Until Success(ful). This definition holds true to every situation that will lead to success, so you can also say that "stranded focus" is the opposite of it.
6.Being unnecessarily Discrete: This is a big mistake most start-outers make. You don't have to be secretive about ideas to stand out, sharing ideas with others doesn't stop anything, its all in the mind. You might be surprised another person has that same idea if not better and probably has all what it takes to execute it. Remember it's not about the idea, it's about "the executed idea". Truth is no body steals your idea and does better than you. There were shops "onland" longer before Jeff Bezos lunched an "online" shopping complex called Amazon.
7.Being way too complex: For good times sake, people want to understand you, understand your brand, your products and/or services or whatever it is you have to offer so there is practically no need to be complex about things, keep it simple. Your business name should be simple, your vision and mission statement should be clearly clear(understandable) and concisely concise (brief).
8.Feeling "Bossy": Yes we know you are now an MD/CEO/COO of "the Dream Dozens of Trillions Investment Unlimited" all fine and good, congratulations but remember it would be too early for business "suitors" to start referring to you as ''that pompous and proud so so" at this "creche" phase of your business, that can to a large extent hamper the anticipated growth of your business that i assume you look forward to. Stay low key first (even if you'd have to be loud later). Do not trigger a wrong impression at the start.
9.Quitting too early: Business adventure as a whole has its own huddles every now and then but some start-out entrepreneurs wouldn't want to endure those junctions in business, this is unfortunate, many would just seize to continue at a "so early" time. Well, maybe mummy should have taught them "how to persist.
