PHILANTROPHY: Uniben student proposes "free meal" to feed as many Nigerian students living on campus as he can everyday-announces kickoff from UNIBEN.
His name is Daniel Enoch. He is an undergraduate/graduating student of the University of Benin (Department of Child Health, College of Medicine.), a paid blogger, a part time staff at Beacon Of Success Schools, Benin City, a writer, a web designer and an editor at hall4connect.com.
Daniel took to his Facebook page to announce this kind gesture to his 2000+ friends few days after he posted "Recently became a #certified Google admin"(his certification as a Google admin(staff)).
" I will be dedicating 50% of my earnings to providing free meal to feed as many Nigerian students living on campus as I can with support from my team. We are starting right here, from home, from Uniben here,my Uniben, our Uniben. We will extend the table (to other campuses)" he said.
Asked on how long this kind gesture will last, he jovially said "as long as 50% of my earnings will last"-that might not be soon.
And on his motivation to this kind effort, he said "hunger is a major challenge and a call point to all of us not just in Nigeria, but in Africa entirely, that is not a breaking news. Students (especially most Nigerian students living on campus and whoever have passed through campus route will understand everything about hunger on camp and some can even write/have written volumes of books on it) because at one point or the other, all of us have experienced it-and some are still experiencing it (I can attest to that). Research has even shown the inter relationship between hunger and (poor) academic performance. But the possibility in all is that someone always has to do something about something and I want to see myself in the helping end for as long as I can. You don't have to have everything before you can think of helping others, it's just unfortunate that many people are not wired to help, but no, I am."
To be part of this free meal offer, students just need their valid school I.D card and the meal ticket (meal tickets are already available and distribution method will be announced via this platform)

On another interview Daniel was quoted to have revealed his plans to introduce a highly subsidized hunger quick fix meal pack for Nigerian students which he said will be launched next year.
He is the brain behind some alleviating initiatives like the famous Hall4connect's Jack Daniel's (1-30) yearly giveaway (a sponsored promo whereby 30 bottles of Jack Daniel's whiskey is given to 30 lucky persons celebrating their birthday in the month of September of every year in commemoration of the legendary Jack Daniel) and also the hall4connect monthly 5,000 MB giveaway.
one word for this gentleman.
