What happens to everyone as they graduate and how to turn things around after graduation

1.A big sigh of relief; No more morning classes, night classes, impromptu tests, semester exams, , no more GP to monitor, no more fear of carryover and at last (if you are a Nigerian student), you've finally parted ways with industrial strike actions. Congratulations, you're now a graduate!. 

2.Freedom: Yhes!, you can now sleep and never bother to wake up, sleep is all yours!, congratulations, you are now a graduate!. you can decide to sleep over at friday nights' club, no worries about hangovers, You can now visits friends, watch football matches week-in, week-out, uefa champions league too, Continue or start over your new favourite seasonal movies, Zee world and Telemundo even during lecture hours, any time is the right time!. Congratulations, you are now a graduate.

 BUT LISTEN, THESE ARE SOME WORTHWHILE THINGS YOU SHOULD DO AS A FRESH GRADUATE

3.Physical Maturity: spending four to six or seven years doing the same thing in the university  is long enough to bring maturity. For example, a student who gained admission into college four,  five or six years ago is never expected to look or behave the same way s/he used to at the time of graduation, if that be the case, there was no Education in the first place because Education is supposed to  bring maturity of the mind. And the development of the mind is key to mature behaviour (not necessarily age considerations-although that too is  important). So at graduation, these traits of maturity begins to surface and become notorious  on your appearance and decision making, line of actions to take and sense of judgment. And also in addition to the bodily changes- the big voice, facial hair and strong bones( for the men) and the light voice, developed/toned features, skin transformation etc(for the ladies) that might have occurred over this period of time while learning. Because now, you are a graduate.

4.Identity discovery: You just become more self aware than ever.Now you just start to live in the consciousness of being what you've become or about to become- a graduate. At this stage, entering places such as public transports, eatery, marketplaces, or social gatherings is marked with this consciousness of a "new being" you have become. You just want act differently from others. yhe, its not your fault we also felt the same way.

5. Fear of the labour market: no matter how competent you might perceive yourself to be (maybe by the virtue of your WGP) everyone about facing the labour market has some fear of the unknown to deal with. what kind of job that befits my status as a graduate, how can that job come?, how will I cope with my "new found" life etc. It's always a thing to worry about. But in the end, you will cope and adapt to the conditions as they unfolds.

6.Humbled/tamed: Sense of humility just begins to grow in us as we approach graduation or as we become graduate, it just comes naturally. even to the very proud ones. Everyone's just got to be humbled somehow someday.

7. Sharp sense of responsibility: you just begin to be more conscious of the fact that mum and dad,siblings and relatives are waiting to be a part of the success that you are billed to bring to the family and as a graduate-the true essence for being sent to become a graduate. Reality have now dawned on a brother.

8.Settling down: marriage becomes the closest target: apart from the few  who were able to combine the bulk of marriage and school, many others usually wait to graduate before considering marriage. For the ladies especially, it is at graduation that the full consciousness of becoming someone's property in full, a mother, daughter-in-law sets in. And to the guys, although it is not always like it is to the ladies, we just know that this marriage thingy is just one next thing to look at after graduation.
