Check out these worthwhile things you should do as a (fresh) graduate.

uniben graduation party day

1.Connecting with Friends and/or Family.
During school days, you like me, only went home on vacations maybe once or twice in a while; yhes, that is typical of an undergraduate who was always craving a new adventure. But now you are a graduate, it is the right time to get back on track and re-establish bonds with old friends and family as this may be the only time you will have to do that. Because after becoming a graduate, the next thing is job search and settling in the world of odds which definitely will sway your focus from friends and family again.

2.Eat good food. Because your days in school were days of jug, junks, jag and juice. And thanks to all that time you spent on that, thank God you didn't die. Now is the time to start eating right, eat cooked food often, not fried indomie, eat more vegetables and recover your lost years in eating junks while in the university.

3.Become reliable: we all know the dubious lifestyle that is prominent on campus, you shouldn't have to tell me what it was like back in school days as an undergraduate, neither should i have to tell you. We all know it at heart. But the central truth is that not many people did right when talking about being reliable and and being honest. Many of us did badly. But now you are a graduate, you just have to turn a new leave, Honesty is a major requirement in the labour market and that is going to be required of you and you are going to have to prove to be honest by being honest to your employers or employees.

4.Sharpen your skills: Mind you,Sharpening your skills at when you become a graduate is good but the better would have been doing that right within the university gates 2,3,4 years before graduating. But if you have not done that, its never too late to start out (ofcourse you are still fresh and young) because your skills may just be what or even all you may be needing to put food on your table and pay your bill, that certificate might just be just another credential you might not even need. Afterall what do people need certificate for?, is it not to be eligible to apply for a job?. And what if your skill is capable of sprouting a company that will even employ others?. Maybe you were waiting for "after graduation" so now that that's come true, start out, head on with those skills and sharpen them, head in a studio for a recording if you can sing or want to sing. Enroll in a movie academy if you've got flare for acting , learn a (new)trade, sharpen your skills on the use of computer, learn video editing, animations and cartoon making, start writing or complete and publish the book, enroll for catering services, ceremonies are waiting to be catered for, are you perfect at drawing left eyebrow yet?, if not, go for extra makeup classes, can you tie gele, make beads and bake?, how about hair care, manicure/pedicure?. Can you run thread on clothes conveniently with a machine?, if you can't, it is something you need to learn. Or maybe you just want to do more paper work in school, then go for another degree or a professional course.Just get your skills ready for payday. The goal is getting ready for success.

5.Be/get close to Nature. My second or middle name should be brother Nature and that is because i am the hugest fan nature will always and ever have. I just love spending my time with nature in natural environments. I travel most times just for the purpose of hooking up with new natural environments. I love looking at flowers, old trees, cracked barks of trees, i love looking at and touching pets and innocent looking animals, like cat, sheep, dogs, i like seeing waterfalls,  spent rocks,i love looking at the sky, the stars and moonlight at nights, i have special interest in colours and hues, i like staring into the eyes of a thick forest whenever i get to see them .I go for a walk, or run an errand on bicycle or on foot, watching sunsets (or sunrises), cloud gazing, bird watching, or watching boats in the harbour, looking at children play  are all great outdoors  recreation that i fancy.Because  i understand that true recreation should get your mind off your daily stresses and let your mind relax, and nothing does that like being in nature. Nature increases life expectancy-check. And in all, spending true recreation time re-creating yourself  in nature pays in dozen” You can borrow a leaf from me to help yourself live longer by staying closer to nature.

5.Laugh more. Play more. Worry less! Just have it at the front of your mind that disappointment will once in a while happen, and you can't afford to kill yourself so soon. So just take it easy with things, don't be overly too serious with life that lines have to start drawing on your forehead. You are not the first graduate doing what you are doing or looking for what you're looking for and you are not going to be the last. Like what Donald Cooper says in his "Accelerate Your Business" workshops, he says“trust the process.” All your hard work will pay off. Do the steps you feel are best, and don’t worry. Give yourself time to play. Stay lighthearted — smile more and make others smile too. Your brain works better this way, and your stress levels will decrease too. Forgive the world for not being perfect- by understanding that it still will never be. Forgive yourself for the things you may not have done right. Stay in the present and see how much you can enjoy this very moment, now.Because when you eventually die, it is the memories that will be shared and you. won't have business with anything else.

Pray and hope for the best.
You can only do the one you can within your powers. There are a handful of things you can not do for yourself by yourself - no matter how much you try. Those things need prayers to happen in your favour. Prayer is you acknowledging that there are things you can't do for yourself and trusting someone else to help you out. That brings God in to the picture. Pray and hope for the best to happen to you.
